Loews Hotels at Universal Orlando Realizes
Significant Labor Savings by
Installing Decisions Data Warehouse from Datavision Technologies

Weston, FL - Loews Hotels at Universal Orlando deployed Decisions
Business Intelligence System from Datavision Technologies, Inc. in
their three properties: Portofino Bay Hotel, Hard Rock Hotel, and
Royal Pacific Resort. Loews installed the Decisions Night Audit
Module and have already seen significant labor savings in the
accounting department. “The ROI on the system was immediate”, says
Darrin Pinkham, CTO/Director of Technology. “Decisions has enabled
the three resorts to automatically consolidate data from their Hotel
Information Systems PMS and the Aloha POS into a single data
warehouse, completely eliminating the need for any manual data entry
from the operations or day audit staff.”
Decisions automatically extracts a variety of information from the
PMS such as posted transactions, occupancy and revenues by market
segmentation, booking source, guest geographic origin, etc. In
addition, detailed information such as revenues, covers,
settlements, etc are extracted from the Aloha POS. All this data is
then presented in various Excel spreadsheets, allowing the
accounting staff to virtually eliminate manual data entry and
streamline the audit process. Since data from all three properties
is housed in a single master data warehouse, the system allows the
accounting team to effortlessly reconcile cross property postings
and perform multi property consolidations.
